We’re pleased to introduce our newest fraud-fighting tool – Purchase Alerts powered by Visa®. Simply enroll your Freedom Credit Union Visa® debit or credit card to be notified by email or text message of transactions on your card. Once enrolled, you can set the criteria for which transactions you would like to generate an alert – international, online, or exceeding a specific dollar amount.
Enrolling in Visa® Purchase Alerts takes about 3 minutes and lets you customize the alerts you would like to receive. Then, as transactions route through the Visa® network for authorization, you are notified by email or text message whenever a transaction on one of your cards matches the rules you specify.
It’s free, although data and message rates apply if you choose to receive alerts by text message.
By notifying you in near real-time of transactions taking place on your card, you are in a much better position to identify and respond to potentially unauthorized charges quickly. If you identify a suspicious transaction on your debit card, you can immediately disable the card by logging on to your account using our mobile app with Remote Control Cards. Unfortunately, Remote Control Cards is not currently available on our credit cards. Please contact our office directly for issues with your credit card.
